LEAVE A MARK

The City Council of Carrizo Springs has begun to take steps in restoring the old fire station. This site will be used to keep you informed of any progress and to allow you to submit any photographs or stories of the "Old Fire Station".   The City plans on pursuing historical designation on the state and national level.  These photos and stories will be used to document a historical timeline  for the citizens of Carrizo Springs and grant submission.

The  renovation endeavor will be a slow process due to the monetary constraints of the city and the amount of money required for full restoration.  The City will continue to take advantage and apply for all grant opportunities.

In January 2017, the City of Carrizo Springs submitted a Planning Grant for the old fire station to The Texas Historical Commission.  On Tuesday, April 4, 2017 a packet arrived inviting the City to proceed to the Project Proposal & Final Project Selection Stage.  The addition of oral history and photographs are needed to prepare the grant for the final stage of the grant.
